  1. non-Euclidean geometry addresses some of the limitations of regular 
  2. Euclidian geometry through mathematical models. When used with 
  3. small distances, the two geometries are roughly equivalent but when 
  4. vast distances are involved, as with the problems of modern physics, 
  5. non-Euclidean models give better results. Einstein, for example, used 
  6. non-Euclidean geometry to develop his theory of relativity.
